Jörg Müller is a professional racing driver who started his career in Karting at the age of 6 and won his first German Karting Title in 1985.

In 1988 he changed into car racing where he won titles in the European Formula Ford 1600 Championship and the German Formula Opel Lotus Championship. He then graduated to F3 and won the prestigious Monaco F3 GP, the Macau Grand Prix (1993) and the German Formula 3 Championship.

 In 1996 he won the European Formula 3000 Championship in his first year.

In 1994 he had his first F1 test with Ligier. From 1997 to 1998, Müller was a Formula One test driver for Arrows and Sauber-Petronas, before joining the BMW-Williams F1 project to do tests for engines and Michelin tyres from 1999 to 2001. He never managed to race in Formula One though.

After his Formula career Jörg has been successful in the FIA GT Championship, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and the Asian Le Mans Series. The following years he won the American Le Mans Series and had the overall victory in the famous 12H of Sebring with his Teammates Tom Kristensen and JJ Lehto. He also finished 2nd in the 24 H of Le Mans and in Daytona with the Porsche Factory Team.

Müller won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2004 and 2010 and the 1000km of Zhuhai two times.

From 2002 until 2009 Jörg competed in the FIA European and the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) where he finished 2nd in the Championship three times.

More recently Jörg has competed in the Super GT Championship in Japan and the Dubai 24 Hour as a BMW works driver. Müller was also given the honour to drive the BMW M6 GT3 on first roll-out at the BMW factory in Dingolfing, in addition to providing crucial support in the development stage of the car.

Jörg has a longlasting relationship with BMW Motorsport. Since 1999 Jörg is racing for BMW Motorsport, after 2 Years in Super Touring Cars in 1995 and 1996 for the Munich Brand. In 2016 Jörg will celebrate his 20th year as a Factory Driver for BMW.
